FAQs  (Answers by Dr. Davis)

Q:  Do you offer discounts?
A:   All my rates are competitive and I believe it is unfair
to charge different people different rates so not
usually no. However, at quieter times of year I do
advertise discounts on my Facebook page.

Q:  Can you explain how to send my file?
A:   Contact me following the link and I will email you.

When you receive my email just attach your file as
a Word document and email it to me.

Q: Can you proofread .pdf files?
A:   No sorry I can't at the moment as I don't have the
appropriate software; you will need to convert the
file into a .doc file or an .rtf file.

Q: Can you paraphrase something for me?
A:  I can, but, generally I won't unless you can give me
a good reason why this is required - as it is against
     University regulations.

Q: Can you edit my file to meet the guidelines
     of a specific journal?

A:  Yes, but this is still not a guarantee that
     it will be accepted.

Q: What hours do you work?
A:  I work on UK time so I am normally online between
the hours of 9am and 10pm 7 days a week and I will
try and respond to your emails as soon as I receive
     them on weekdays.

Q: How do I know if I should choose
     proofreading or editing?

A:  Just ask, I will be happy to advise you.

Q: Can I have your phone number?
A:  No, sorry. Last year I proofread 50 million words for
over 600 people so it really would not be practical
to take time out from proofreading to answer the
phone. I will always respond as comprehensively
     as possible to all emails.
